EGNOS: Added precision for satellite


Design & Data has started the New Year in full swing. A new corporate video for the European Satellite Services Provider (ESSP) has just been completed. We are now happy to present the final outcome to you. It covers the operation of EGNOS, a service that provides added precision for GPS data.

The so-called “European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service” improves the accuracy of Global Positioning System (GPS) data. While GPS has an error range of up to ten metres, EGNOS improves the precision of GPS data up to only a few meters. At the same time, it guarantees that this information is 100% trustworthy.

This increase in GPS signal quality enables the creation of innovative satellite navigation applications such as precision farming and mapping. The aviation industry benefits from this added security for example during lift-off and landing events. It provides an overall increase in safety for its passengers.

Not only individuals but also the economy as a whole benefits from this development all over Europe.
