StartupWeekend Space Workshop & Fireside Chat

StartupWeekend Space will be holding a Workshop and Fireside Chat panel this Friday, 18thSeptember. It will be an opportunity for the remaining teams that participated in StartupWeekend Space: Bremen in April to share specific challenges they have faced so far in launching their businesses.

Out of the 11 original teams, 5 are still going strong. The teams will meet at ZARM – the Center of Applied Space Technology and Microgravity at the University of Bremen. Under the framework of StartupWeekend Space, together with WFB Bremen, the day will build on their experiences. In particular, it will be a chance to assess typical problems that need to be solved when setting up a business in Germany, and starting operations while still in a full-time job.

The morning will focus on status updates of the teams’ projects, talking about the main concerns or difficulties they have encountered, receiving feedback from the experts and mentors in the audience. A representative from each of the teams will participate in the panel where co-lead for SWSpace: Bremen, Magni Johannsson, will moderate.

A fireside chat will take place in the afternoon – an informal chance for the audience to ask some experts about entrepreneurship topics. These include encouraging work on pre-seed startup ideas and how to get projects off the ground, strategies to help focus efforts within limited resources and seeking service providers for startups. Sebastian D. Marcu, who co-founded Design & Data and was a co-lead for SWSpace: Bremen, will moderate this session. The aim is to help the remaining teams turn their projects into successful businesses. We look forward to seeing these start-ups come alive in the city of Bremen.
